The age of Luna Lexis is sixteen. She stands apart from the majority of sixteen-year-old girls you've ever met, though.

Luna has no concept what life is like in the outer world.

Luna has been residing in a quarantine facility for people from all around the nation of New Delta since she was twelve years old in a dystopian North America. Thousands of people died when a disease struck the population in the past. Nobody is aware of its origin. They refer to it as the "Black Fever," and it can be fatal within days.

Since she was twelve years old, Luna has had the Black Fever.

She has been informed as such. She can't help but sense that something is off, despite the experts who test her on a daily basis telling her it's a marvel she's survived this long. She has never in her life experienced being ill. So how might a fatal illness be circulating through her body? What are the researchers withholding from her?

Nevertheless, when Luna meets Carson Cole, everything will change, secrets will be uncovered, and perhaps even love will blossom.
