There is no civilization in the history of the world in which production and consumption of alcohol has no reference. It is believed that consumption of alcohol in moderation may not pose or represent a pathological situation but when it exceeds the limits and becomes an addiction it comes to be viewed as a social evil and a health hazard and leads to other social evils and problems.
