There can come a point in life where you'll always remember what came before and what came after.

It's 2004 in L.A., when Rachel and Katie, both five months pregnant, learn that their babies have birth defects. Rachel, who's Jewish and married, has to decide whether to continue the pregnancy or terminate, while Katie, who's catholic, single, and alone, struggles with the same heartbreaking choice. The women bond when they meet in a pregnancy support group, and through tears and laughter, discover they have more in common than they ever could've imagined. They find friendship, hope, family, and love.
