Though there is no consensus regarding the explanation of the term
'wisdom' yet all leameds accept that the literary meaning of the word
philosophy is 'love of wisdom'. We find the reference of this term in many
verses of the Holy Quran also. For example. "He (Allah) granteth wisdom
to whom (people) He pleaseth" (Surah No. 2 Ayat No.269). So, wisdom
is getable and it can be obtained by human being through the pursuit of
superb knowledge. But mere acquisition of knowledge is not enough to be
a man of wisdom rather knowledge should be translated into practice in
day to day life. Knowledge without practice is quite meaningless. Instead
of getting proximity it creats a distance with the Almighty Allah. As prophet
Mohammod (S) said, "Whoever increases in knowledge without increasing
in righteousness will only increases his remoteness from Allah".
