Violence and morbidity. Case study in the Morbid treatment of the i

It analyzes the most controversial cases published in Diario Extra and TC Televisi鏮 in 2015 which were sanctioned by SUPERCOM for not complying with the deontological norm established in article 10, numeral 3, literal d) of the LOC, which refers to the professional exercise of "avoiding a morbid treatment to information about crimes, accidents, catastrophes or other similar events". Through a brief tour of journalism in Ecuador, we will learn about the use of violence and morbidity in the media to get more ratings. And through a discourse analysis, an in-depth understanding of the communicational elements in the selected cases will be obtained, whose results will serve to determine whether or not there is a "morbid treatment of information" established by the LOC in order for the media to carry out a more responsible journalism.
