This book takes a deep dive into tourist
behaviour and sustainable tourism development, particularly within the post-pandemic
context. Coupled with the pressure of the pandemic, the Ukraine-Russia crisis, social
transitions, geo-political and climate change issues, the tourism industry has

the question of whether changes in tourist behaviour have an impact on
sustainable tourism development and if so, what are the implications. As such,
chapters document issues, trends and challenges faced by tourists in developing
resiliency towards the new normal. It provides readers with essential
theoretical and empirical knowledge on tourist behaviour in the new normal as
well as its implications for sustainable tourism development.
Volume I focuses on the ways in which the
tourism industry can and has become more resilient and covers topics such as theexperience economy, sports tourism, and gen Y. In Volume II, chapters explore
sustainable development with topics such as environmental and economic
sustainability, as well as governance and ethics covered. Taken together, these
collections propose solutions in nine thematic areas that are relevant to the
UN Sustainable Development Goals.
