The Demon Pact

Divine Blades are God's chosen warriors assigned to protect the Earth from falling to sin, demons, and things that cannot be beaten with a mortal sword. River Sallow is a Divine Blade, possibly the best of his ranks, and soon finds himself thrust into a conflict beyond imagination. Not only are the trees starting to bleed black ooze, but their leaves are also shifting to the color of blood. The Earth is dying, and River does not know why, but it is his job to unbury the truth before it is too late. As the Earth slowly decays, River hears of a possible demon living amongst the royal family of the Kingdom of Nil. Forced to carry out his duty, the Blade goes to Kroburn--the kingdom's capital. Soon enough, he finds himself thrust into a violent coup organized from within the family. With his mind full of uncertainty and his back slowly getting pinned against the wall, River meets Angeline Gray--a powerful mage that may be withholding secrets of the bleeding trees. Secrets of the past will be unearthed, alliances will be tested, and deeper evils will rise from the darkness. But first, it all begins with a single demon within the royal family.
