Has it always been this difficult to manage people at work?
You are picking up signs that someone in your team isn't themselves.
Perhaps their performance is off. Maybe they've become really quiet or snappy.
You suspect they are struggling with something, but you don't know if its personal or work-related.
As their manager, you want to do the right thing.
But you are balancing the needs of the business with the needs of the person, there is always too much to do, and, let's be honest, conversations like this are tricky and you've just not been trained in how to handle these conversations correctly.
Failing to have these conversations is a real business problem.
I'm a Boss, Not a Shrink will teach managers:
- How to spot the signs that someone in their team is struggling - with life, with work, with their mental health
- How to listen effectively and demonstrate care
- What kind of support they could offer and the boundaries they could consider setting
- What duty of care looks like for a manager
- How to look after themselves and role model these practices effectively
In these fast-paced times, meaningful conversations about wellbeing are important and essential to maintain the most valuable asset of any organisation: its people. Using the ABCD conversation framework that you'll learn in I'm a boss, not a shrink, you will be able to confidently care for and lead your people to ensure both the needs of your organisation and your employees are well met.
