The series of "Huizinga Schriften", which Brill u Fink has been presenting in new and first translations since 2011, comes to a close with the seventh volume, which contains "Homo Ludens", the reference text of all modern game theories. Thanks to Annette Wunschel, who was awarded the Else Otten Prize in 2016 for her translation of Huizinga's "Kultur- und zeitkritischen Schriften" not only are Huizinga's main works "Herbst des Mittelalters," "Erasmus," and "Homo Ludens" now available in a completely new translation, which, through its intended closeness to the original text, is able to preserve its liveliness and richness of punchlines down to the smallest nuances.
