Finding your reason for being is essential to living a life of meaning and fulfillment, but there is no one right way to go about it. Meaning keeps us going. It motivates us to get up and keep going even when life is challenging. It gives each day significance and value. Having a sense of purpose in life improves our odds of feeling happy and fulfilled. Both professional and romantic fulfilment is more likely to come our way. We also improve our odds of making a positive global impact. Unfortunately, not everyone has a clear idea of what they want out of life. Many people wander aimlessly through life, never finding their true calling. If you find yourself in this group, don't worry. Discovering your life's calling is possible. The first order of business is to take a moment to reflect. Think about your values and your motivations. Share with me some of your deepest values. What are the signs that you are actually living? After you've figured out what you care about and why, you can start planning how you'll put that knowledge to use. If you could change anything, what would it be? How can you make a difference in the world with the special abilities you've been given? Finding one's true calling is rarely easy, but ultimately satisfying.
