I biked across Italy and southern France. I wasn't trying to resolve an internal crisis. My girlfriend hadn't left me. I wasn't searching for spirituality.

And what I found is that travel is not about "finding ourselves," nor the sepia-toned languor of a beach on a late summer afternoon. It's not about snapping Instagram photos, or ticking boxes off your bucket list. It's the little details, the everyday occurrences that happen on the backstreets, when you've gone off the beaten track: surly waitresses with surprising wit, homeless people off the main drag, lifeless town squares, bullfighters with their glory days behind them.

Two Wheels, No Plans is about travel for travel's sake - the genuine experience of the road. It encompasses the messy moments, the sometimes ugly impressions of places passed through, the loneliness of being a solo traveler, and the people you meet who aren't always charming or welcoming.
