Elymian Residences: Voices Across Cultures

Embark on an architectural journey through time and space with this research, conducting a comparative analysis between Elymian houses in northwestern Sicily, vernacular structures from Anatolia, and Greece. The primary goal is to investigate whether a cultural link can be identified between the Elymi and their reputed Trojan ancestors. This study delves into Bronze Age houses from Anatolia, Bronze Age, Iron Age, and Greek Age houses from Sicily, and Iron Age and Greek Age houses from Greece.

Utilizing Richard Blanton's model of scale, integration, and complexity, along with semiotic analysis and first- and second-person meaning concepts, the research seeks to answer crucial questions about the architectural similarities and cultural connections across these regions.
