'I've been trying to fill the void that is of my fantasy book collection, and this one is what I've been missing! It is a great book filled with unique storylines and characters, plenty of dark magic, exciting battles, the odd dragon or two and follows an unlikely hero who you can't help but root for! The book ends on an exciting cliffhanger so I can't wait to read the next one! Highly recommend you read this now before it gets turned into a Netflix series!' SJ
'I've been a fan of Reed's work for quite some time now, and this is her best book yet, in my opinion. All of her strengths are on display in this one: exquisite prose, vivid settings, a mastery of atmosphere and description, but there's also a beating heart at the center of its narrative that I think all readers of great fiction will connect with. And the characters are fascinating! I can't wait to see where Meloc, Anders, and Kasian go in the next installment. Highly recommended!' BB
