Braxton's Dream, As Told by Braxton

My son Braxton was truly a gift from God. He was excited about life. At a young age he had a clear understanding that he was loved by God. I recall a time when he was being mischievous, as boys of 3 1/2 years may be at times. When I confronted him about his behavior, he burst out in sincere remorse with tears flowing down his face. I then believed he was repentant. I explained that when we pray to God and sincerely ask God to forgive us for our wrong-doing that God throws it into a "sea of forgetfulness". God would continue in His love for you as if the incident never happened. A light went on in Braxton's eyes that was evident in a bright gleeful smile. He wiped his eyes. There was no sign on his face, in his voice, or in his apparent peace that a true revelation of salvation and forgiveness of sin had not just taken place. There were many occurrences in his young life that reminded him that he was heard by God the Father. I recounted one of my favorite of those events in this beloved true story, that I entitled "Braxton's Dream". I wanted to make sure I did not forget the beauty and simplicity of the love of God as I retold his dream. It was so pure, simple and powerful that God thought He could entrust it with a five year old. On June 1, 2013 at the age of 19, Braxton was taken home to be with the Lord. The sharing of his story comforts and reminds me that there is purpose in every life. God, our Lord Jesus Christ always has you on His mind. Rhonda Primus
