商品簡介
This book is the same as the English translation of the Bhagavad Gita published in Volume 8 of The Sacred Books of the East in 1882, edited by Max Mler (that translation is now in the public domain), except that this book does not contain an introduction, footnotes, or verses that are sexist, namely these verses: "In consequence of the predominance of impiety, O Krishna! the women of the family become corrupt; and the women becoming corrupt, O descendant of Vrishni! intermingling of castes results; that intermingling necessarily leads the family and the destroyers of the family to hell; for when the ceremonies of (offering) the balls of food and water (to them) fail, their ancestors fall down (to hell))", "Be not effeminate, O son of Prith? it is not worthy of you", "For, O son of Prith? even those who are of sinful birth, women, Vaisyas; and Sras likewise, resorting to me, attain the supreme goal", and "And among females, fame, fortune, speech, memory, intellect, courage, forgiveness". Those verses are usually 1:41-42, part of 2:3, 9:32, and 10:34 respectively. As well, the British spelling has been changed to American spelling.
