Growing up in the family's bakery was a continuous joy for Peter Goodman. He worked there from grammar school through graduate school until his parents retired in 1973. Peter chronicles virtually all of the family's bakery history, including Berkeley, California's exciting times, from the Silent Generation to the Free Speech Movement to People's Park. The book is illustrated with exquisite European pastries and recipes, plus stories, humor, yarns, quotes from his parents, and scores of photos.
