Serenity's Big Move

In Serenity's first Big Adventure, she faces the challenge of moving across the world to a new country and a new home. Join her as she says goodbye to her friends, family, and the home she's always known, venturing to a place she's never seen or heard of before.

Throughout this book, you'll follow the journey of a young girl as she learns that her family is moving to a country far away-a place very different from what she's familiar with. She will pack up her belongings, say her goodbyes, and experience the process of moving. You'll get an inside look at everything from going to the airport, passing through security, taking off her shoes, going through X-ray machines, boarding the plane, and finally arriving in her new country. As Serenity steps off the plane, she quickly realizes just how different this new place will be. However, with the help of her mom and dad, she begins to see all the exciting possibilities that await her in this new country she will call home. Even though everything feels, looks, and even smells different, she learns that home is wherever you are with your family. By the end of her journey, Serenity understands that every new place and home in the world holds countless adventures waiting to be discovered.

We know that many children have to leave the safety and comfort of their home and venture to a place that feels far away and scary. We witnessed our own children pack up their toys, give some away, and say goodbye to their friends, family, and the home that made them feel safe. It was difficult to watch, but we realized how important it is to say goodbye properly to these cherished things.

We created this book with two purposes in mind. The first is for us and our children to look back at everything they had to say goodbye to, and how they turned their new place into a home they will remember for the rest of their lives. The second is for those with similar stories, or stories yet to be written. We know many children and families must move to other countries, and we hope this book helps you and your children navigate the process of saying goodbye while embracing the adventures that await in your new home.
