商品簡介
Tripping in the Darkness/Searching for the Light is a collection of poems split into three sections. Each section represents a specific part of the journey in finding the light while battling depression and anxiety, in addition to the different perspectives on mental health. The first section contains the darkest poems and represents the period in your life when you feel hopeless and when anxiety has overtaken the mind. Those hard days when you don't want to get out of bed, and you feel lost and disconnected from yourself and the world around you. The second section represents when you are trying to regain your balance while tripping in the darkness and fighting yourself in the process. The back-and-forth battle is represented here while you try to fight your way back into the light. These poems are transitional with emphasis on looking inward to find your strength all the while trying to be positive amongst the hardships that you face. The final section is when you find yourself again and you appreciate the world with new eyes because of everything you just went through while searching for the light. These poems show a positive perspective on life, while reflecting on the battles you have conquered on your journey back to the light. Some of these poems have very heavy themes but there are points in life when you feel completely lost and hopeless. During these times, it can be comforting to hear a song or read a poem that represents how you feel and to know that you are not alone in what you are feeling. Sometimes it's okay not to be okay, and to know in time things will get better and you will see the positives again. Finding the light is a lengthy process and not everyone finds it in the same amount of time. Before you can completely stand up again and feel the light on your face, you will trip in the darkness many times. My goal is to make others feel not so alone in their most difficult times, especially the people that have a hard time letting others in for fear of judgment, not to mention the people that have a tough time expressing how they feel because they cannot find the right words to express their emotions. I hope this book helps others find the light or at least helps them feel a little less alone while they are lost so they have an easier time connecting to their emotions during their hardest days.
