Cuestiono la imagen de la mujer que se ha perpetuado a trav廥 de la historia utilizando como recurso las representaciones ic鏮icas de la Virgen Mar燰. En muchas culturas la mujer ha sido subyugada al hombre y vista como un objeto de deseo o sometimiento. La religi鏮 cat鏊ica ha colaborado imponiendo esta imagen idealizada y reduccionista de la mujer a trav廥 de la figura de la Virgen Mar燰. De esta manera se justifca la opresi鏮 y el control masculino sobre las mujeres e impone un modelo ideal de feminidad, satanizando cualquier otro. He querido aportar otra refexi鏮 sobre la construcci鏮 social del g幯ero y la forma como la religi鏮 y el patriarcado han infuido en la imagen de la mujer. Forzada por la naturaleza a parir con dolor y obligada por la sociedad a criar sin queja. "Since man decided that God was masculine, he has exercised his power over women, judging them and imposing his hegemonic behavior. Eve, following in the footsteps of Lilith, ate from the forbidden fruit and made Adam her accomplice. The masculine God expelled them from paradise. The photographic series I present is a critique of patriarchy. I question the image of women that has been perpetuated throughout history using as a resource the iconic representations of the Virgin Mary. In many cultures, women have been subjugated to men and seen as objects of desire or submission. The Catholic religion has collaborated by imposing this idealized and reductive image of women through the figure of the Virgin Mary. In this way, male oppression and control over women is justified, and an ideal model of femininity is imposed, demonizing any other. I wanted to contribute another reflection on the social construction of gender and how religion and patriarchy have influenced the image of women. Forced by nature to give birth in pain and forced by society to raise children without complaint."
