This volume expands and completes the one published in 2023, on psychological defense mechanisms in everyday life, trying to shred old clich廥 and negative stereotypes on questions related to the neopsychoanalytic movement, which contemporary empirical research has managed to demonstrate by modifying and restructuring many concepts and ideas currently supported by serious and rigorous studies of the most relevant researchers in this field. The concepts, functions and hierarchy of psychological defenses, their development, individual differences and their relationship with normal and pathological psychology are discussed in depth, underlining also the adaptation they have on the healthy function at the mental and behavioral level in people.
