Overcoming the Serpent's Reign of Chaos Part Two: Hidden in Adullam

The age of chaos has been with us since time immemorial. It has not ceased or waned like the Age of Reason or the Renaissance. Chaos is defined as complete disorder and confusion. Such chaos, seen throughout the world daily, is authored by the lord of darkness - Satan. The devil, after all, rebelled against God and was thrown out of the heavenly abode. Ever since, he has been on a warpath to cause chaos. Look at the world today. Do we not find mass chaos and confusion about the truth anymore? Confusion can be defined as uncertainty about what is happening, intended, or required. People are very uncertain as to what is truth anymore, what is morally right or wrong. There is mass confusion even in churches. Confusion and disorder (chaos) result from not serving and following God. Confusion and chaos are the result of engaging in spiritual darkness. Millions if not billions of people reject the true God, and, therefore, His truth and way. All of this rebellion feeds the monster of chaos. This age of chaos and confusion is not something new. It started in the Garden of Paradise. The devil confused Adam and Eve. He threw their lives into chaos when they had to leave the sanctuary. Cain and Abel's lives were thrown into turmoil, resulting in a murder. The entire history of Israel's kings reminds us of a state of chaos and confusion as they abandoned God and His truth. The reality is that this world remains in a state of chaos because the devil - the lord of chaos - is the ruler of this realm (temporarily). Yet, those who stand with God, who abide in Him, and who follow and obey, can overcome such chaos. The good news is that such chaos will end, and God's perfect order, peace, love and joy will reign forevermore. We need to discern and understand what the age of chaos is so that we are not swept away by such dark tides and storms. In God, we overcome in God's peace and love, but we need to endure, persist in our faithfulness and seek His Way above other forsaken and cruel paths.
