One Earth, One Love: Orthodox and Baptist Theologians in Conversation about the Natural Evironment

This book marks the first conversations ever held between Orthodox and Baptist theologians on the subject of theology and the environment. Chapters cover care for the natural world, the response of the churches to the climate crisis, and the future of the planet in the face of global warming. Theological themes developed include the sacramental nature of the world, human priesthood in creation, freedom and risk, the grounds of hope, and covenantal relations between God, human beings, and all created things. Much shared ground is explored between these two Christian communions, as well as the finding of some distinctive emphases. At a critical moment in world history, the book demonstrates the importance of holding a common Christian mind and the taking of joint Christian action.
