Colonel Kernel and His Good Ship Homonym will delight both children and adults. It truly is "a zany tale from head to tail."
Funny, pudgy Colonel Kernel is hired to deliver a bizarre cargo (everything from a yak to a beautiful bride-to-be) to a handsome prince who lives across the ocean. A terrible storm ensues, the crew is angry, the ship is sinking and it looks like lives, cargo and ship will be lost. It is chaos on the good ship Homonym!
For children and adults learning the English language, homonyms are frustrating, confusing and difficult. Homonyms are words that sound the same but have different meanings. The English language has over 1000 of these crazy, confusing words.
Colonel Kernel calls his ship Homonym for good reason. Over 100 homonyms are used to tell the tale. The homonyms are part of the story and a big part of the fun. There is no better way to learn these homonyms than to see them used in context in a delightful, zany and funny story.
A perfect book for kids ages 5 to 12, adults learning the English language or teachers needing a clever way to teach homonyms.
