I was never supposed to exist. A ghost in my own life, unseen, unloved, unprotected. Just a body to be used. A girl no one saved. I learned at a young age that monsters don't live under the bed. They wear familiar faces. They smile as they destroy you. I kept my mouth shut. I hid the bruises. I played my part. The good daughter. The good girlfriend. The good wife. I was the kind of girl who keeps your secrets while she drowns in her own. But survival? It changes you. It chips away at your humanity, at your innocence. It carves you into something dangerous. There's only so much damage a girl can take before being good stops making sense. Then you just want to burn it all down. They thought they could keep me quiet. That I'd keep taking the punches, the violations. The humiliation's. But I'm not that girl anymore.
