If Brigid's Day is sharp and clear,
Cailleach's frost will grip the year!
But if it's wet-oh, don't you know?-
Spring will melt away the snow!
Step into the world of Irish legend like never before!
The Cailleach's Wild Rave and Brigid's Big Save brings an ancient Irish folk tale to life with a bold new twist-vibrant pixel-art illustrations inspired by classic adventure games and rhyming verse that makes mythology fun and accessible for all ages.Based around the cycle of Irish seasons this tells the story of the battle between the Cailleach and Brigid and their efforts to bring Geimhreadh/Winter and Samhradh/Summer respectively but in a new way.
The Cailleach is waking up ready to rave through winter. Her wild party brings equally wild weather. But she doesn't know when to stop and Brigid has to take control when Spring comes or the winter will last all year long. This is a vibrant retelling of old Irish folklore that says that if February 1 is bright and dry then the Cailleach is collecting firewood for a long winter, but if it's wet then she's asleep and Brigid is in control bringing Spring with her.
This book is perfect for children and mythology lovers, offering a fresh and exciting way to experience Irish folklore.
