Inside the notorious Georgia State Prison, one of America's most dangerous correctional facilities, he experienced a profound spiritual awakening. He spent much of his three-year sentence in segregation after refusing to fight back against an attacker, choosing instead to "turn the other cheek" in accordance with his newfound faith. During this time of isolation, he completed an extensive Bible study correspondence course and witnessed miraculous healings that strengthened his developing faith.
Upon release, he faced the disorienting challenge of reintegration into society. Supported by a Christian family, he returned to his hometown and reconnected with his childhood church. Following a divine vision, he established a coffee house ministry called "His Place," which operated briefly before closing due to practical challenges and internal conflicts.
Disappointed and disillusioned, he entered what he calls his "desert years"-an eight-year period of spiritual wilderness marked by failed relationships and continued struggles.
