This second edition of "Calvinism in the light of God's word' expands the explanations of Calvinism's definitions of the letters in the acronym, "TULIP" as seen in the light of Scripture.
Some "experts" in Calvinism make the claim that their doctrine is the only doctrine that is truly biblical. Is that claim biblically justified? Scriptures teach that all things presented as spiritual truth must be tested by the word of God. Today, many things being taught as spiritual but when seen in the light of Scripture, are revealed to be contradictory to the truth of God's word. Calvinism presents the five major pillars of their doctrine by their definition of the letters in the acronym TULIP. The "T" in TULIP stands for total depravity, the U for unconditional election, the L for limited atonement, the I for irresistible grace and the P for preservation of the saints. The meaning of each of the letters in TULIP sounds biblical, but when Calvinism's definition of each of the letters are seen in the light of Scripture their concepts do not agree with the Holy Bible. For example, the "T" in the acronym, TULIP is for "total depravity". It is true that God's word teaches that mankind is totally depraved spiritually, but the Calvinist's definition of total depravity differs from what the Holy Bible teaches. Christian believers must diligently test all things presented as spiritual truth in the light of Scripture. The universally accepted meaning of individual words, as defined by a dictionary, are sometimes very different than the way some spiritual sects define them. Those who love and seek truth must be aware of such tactics and avoid being snared by those "spiritual" doctrines. Some Calvinists describe themselves as being less than a five-point Calvinist. Some Calvinists teach that only five-point Calvinists are truly Calvinists. Some Calvinists do not agree with the "experts" in the doctrine that God, because He is sovereign, causes all things including sin. Does Christianity believe that God causes sin, or is He the eternally holy, righteous and just God as His word clearly declares Him to be. True Christianity should not be divided on this issue. All Christians, beyond the age of Christian infancy, should clearly see that God is eternally holy, righteous and just. The message in the Holy Bible is plainly clear on the issue, and the Holy Bible is the guide for all true Christians! Some Calvinists believe that if a Christian is not Calvinist, then he or she is Armenian. Arminianism is the doctrine of Christianity as taught by Jacobus Arminius. Most Christians do not know who Jacobus Arminius is, or what he believed and taught; therefore, how could they be Armenian? Also, most Christians do not know the difference in Calvinism, and Arminianism. Many Christians and Calvinists, do not seem to know much of Calvinism's teaching; that is especially so for those who are not five-point Calvinists. A question explored and answered in this book is whether the Calvinists know the true meaning of the word, "sovereign".
