An epic story. We begin in the summer of May 2027. A modern world hurtling out of control. An excavation site close to Pompeii in southern Italy, unearths the remains of ancient Rome's finest fighting soldiers. The Fifteenth legion. Destroyed back in AD.79, during the eruption of Mount Vesuvius. Led by General Lucius Petro, the Fifteenth were returning from Pompeii after a successful mission to retrieve a precious Christian relic and put down a potential rebellion. Then, in the midst of an almighty terrifying, volcanic firestorm they vanished. Once Upon a Time in Pompeii tells their tall tale. One etched with mystery, myth and religious temptation. Could it be the Fifteenth were simply trapped in the midst of a horrific natural disaster, or was it something else? A Roman spear used at the crucifixion laced with Christ's blood possessing the power to destroy entire armies, if dared to be used for war and not peace. We end back in 2027, as the Spear is discovered buried with the legion. Maybe a last hope for humanity, maybe not? A question to be asked in all those years between AD.79-2027. What have we truly learned?
