In these pages, the author recounts the last years of the Soviet Union, from Perestroika to the fall of the Berlin Wall and the end of the Cold War. At the center of it all is the figure of Mikhail Gorbachev, secretary of the Communist Party, author of a historical turning point that is still discussed today. The text features interviews with the great protagonists of that period, such as Andrei Gromyko, then president of the Supreme Soviet, Tatyana Zaslavskaja, sociologist and inspirer of the wave of renewal, or Vladimir Krjukov, historical director of the KGB.
