There are places where time seems to flow differently. Where the smell of wet earth, the sound of drums and the dance of incense smoke create a sacred setting. Dona Zefa 's terreiro is one of those places.
Each story told here was inspired by the stories and tales heard between candles and prayers, where the boundary between the visible and the invisible dissolves. They are stories of faith, fear, learning, success and failure, where Exus, Pretos-Velhos and other entities teach, protect, correct and show that spirituality is a path, not a shortcut.
This book is not about religion. It is about people. About the soul. About those who seek and find themselves.
As you turn each page, may you feel the presence of the ancients and learn from their words.
