There are books that are born from an idea. Others from an urgency. This one, instead, was born from listening. I wrote these pages as if I were transcribing a dream that doesn't want to vanish. Each chapter was a passage, each word an attempt to give voice to something that had been pressing inside me for a long time. I didn't want to tell a simply "beautiful" story, nor construct a perfect narrative. I just wanted to follow Sofia. Watch her as she fell, got up, remembered and forgot. I wanted to make room for her as she learned to love without getting lost. Sofia is not just a character. She is a question that lives in each of us: Who was I before becoming what I am? And who could I still become, if I learned to remember?
