The Siren Plague In a dystopian world teetering on the brink of collapse, a forgotten myth resurfaces with terrifying consequences. When a weathered journal is discovered on a shipwreck off the coast of Tasmania, its contents reveal a chilling tale from the past-a story of sirens, madness, and an ancient disease that once ravaged the earth. Written by a prisoner named Eliza Byrne in 1836, the journal describes how the sirens weren't merely creatures of myth, but sentinels guarding a plague unlike any other-an illness that sings, driving those it touches to madness before it claims them entirely. In the decaying coastal city of Vaelshore, Isla, a young woman caught between the rituals of her people and the haunting mysteries of her ancestry, begins to uncover the terrifying truth. Each year, the city holds a ritual known as the "Reaping" to stave off the mysterious disappearances that plague them. But Isla soon learns that the true source of the vanishings is far more sinister than the city's superstitions suggest. As the disease resurfaces, its victims are not simply falling ill-they are driven to madness by an ancient, song-like calling that seems to come from deep within the sea. As the eerie melody grows louder, Isla finds herself torn between the city's desperate attempts to contain the outbreak and the sirens' calls that threaten to drown the very heart of humanity.A gripping tale of folklore, disease, and a city fighting against an ancient evil, The Siren Plague weaves a dark and atmospheric narrative that will leave readers questioning the nature of myth, memory, and survival. Will Isla be able to uncover the truth before the song claims her too?
