Shawn and Louise Riley can finally afford to move into a home of their own; only to find that they're not alone!
Terrified, Louise confides in a work colleague who volunteers her son, paranormal investigator Malachi Hunter, to take a look. Mal agrees to investigate, assisted by his partner Teena's teenaged daughter, Carolyn. Called to the bloody aftermath of an occult ceremony in a secluded woodland dell, Detective Constable Bradley Maunder, Teena's brother, convinces the senior investigating officer to bring Mal in as an advisor, leaving Carolyn and Teena to investigate the Riley haunting. Mal quickly realises that the occultists have summoned something, and as more evidence is uncovered, discovers that Camulos, the Celtic God of Warfare, is loose in the woods.
As Carolyn and Teena call on all their fortitude to tackle the increasingly complex and disturbing Riley case, Mal finds himself allied with the enigmatic Wolfe Fisher. As tensions rise, they are all drawn ever deeper into the mysterious hidden world of the Celtic Gods, and a potentially lethal battle to stop Camulos and his followers. Author's Note.
