Black, Buried, and Missing: Normandy American Cemetery provides the location of Black servicemen and women whose gravesites are located at Normandy American Cemetery, Colleville-sur-Mer, Normandy, France. Of the 9,387 graves at Normandy, three are Black women from the 6888th Central Postal Directory Battalion (Six Triple Eight) who lost their lives in a vehicle accident in July 1945: Sgt. Delores Browne, Pfc. Mary Bankston, and Pfc. Mary Barlow. Over 100 graves at Normandy are those of Black men whose ages ranged from nineteen to thirty-eight and five who were declared missing.
