Exploring Nature with a Child: a book for parents and kids to read together

Read this book with your child at night before bedtime or on a Saturday before a hike. Each page features a nature photo I captured with my camera, and three questions that will rouse your child's curiosity about nature. The first page shows a rabbit in the grass and three questions: What is this rabbit paying attention to? How does this mammal move from place to place? Have you ever touched a rabbit? Then there is a photo I took of a female mallard walking on pine needles, a beetle on a leaf, a bright red China rose flower, a spider in a web, an assassin bug, lizards, snakes, birds, butterflies, wasps, a damselfly, a frog, an otter, a squirrel, an ant, ladybugs, a crab, a fly, a turtle, and more. Curiosity is something you can develop by just providing a nudge here or there. I've already done the hard work, finding the wildlife.
