If we are born to defy fate, then which fate is it that we must oppose? In recent years, it seems history has conspired to divide the world in two-right and left. These ideologies have hardened into something resembling a cosmic order: light and darkness, good and evil. If this is indeed the condition of our time, then perhaps the highest virtue lies in remaining steadfast-in choosing and upholding one's convictions with integrity. Yet how long will this ideological conflict persist? And is there any corner of the Earth left untouched-where safety, or even neutrality, still exists?
