Red Rock Ridge tells the story of a dim-witted, pampered young fool named Jack Bumby who we first encounter weighing his options at the onset of the American Civil War. He has no desire to become a soldier or take over his family's lucrative tobacco plantation as his father wishes. Jack has an epiphany, deciding to avoid these hard decisions altogether and strike out on his own into the great American West! But Jack's perception of himself as a rugged outdoorsman and undaunted explorer runs counter to his affinity for refinery and comfort. Also, Jack is hopelessly deficient in any skills that would serve him well on the frontier. Along the way, Jack befriends a runaway slave named Stoney. Together, they set out on a quest for high adventure and immortality, but the reality they will face upon their journey turns out to be a far cry from anything they could have possibly envisioned. The result is gobs of hilarious hijinks! A rootin-tootin', rip-snortin' tale of vengeance, lust, blood, etc. etc. in the Old West!
