商品簡介
Humanitarian intervention and aid involve efforts by states, international organizations and NGOs to relieve human suffering and protect human rights during crises. Humanitarian intervention often includes military actions or necessary measures to prevent or stop severe human rights abuses and widespread suffering in another country. These interventions are driven by a moral obligation to protect civilians. In contrast, humanitarian aid provides essential resources such as food, water, medical care, shelter and education to those affected by disasters or conflicts. The aim is to save lives, reduce suffering and uphold human dignity. Both intervention and aid adhere to principles of humanity, neutrality, impartiality and independence to ensure effective and unbiased assistance to those in need. The topics covered in this extensive book deal with the core subjects of human rights in crisis situations. Some of the diverse topics covered in this book address the varied branches that fall under this category. Coherent flow of topics, student-friendly language and extensive use of examples make this book an invaluable source of knowledge.
