商品簡介
Wind turbines are mechanical devices designed to convert wind energy into electrical energy. They consist of large blades attached to a hub, mounted on a tall tower. As the wind blows, it causes the blades to rotate, which drives a generator to produce electricity. Wind turbines play a pivotal role in renewable energy generation, but their efficient operation relies on robust control, monitoring, and protection mechanisms. Control systems optimize turbine performance by adjusting blade pitch, rotor speed, and yaw angle to maximize energy output while ensuring operational safety. Monitoring systems continuously assess turbine health and performance, detecting anomalies that may indicate mechanical faults or suboptimal operation. Condition monitoring technologies, including vibration sensors and oil analysis, provide valuable insights into turbine reliability and enable predictive maintenance strategies to minimize downtime and repair costs. Protection mechanisms safeguard turbines against adverse operating conditions, such as high winds or grid faults, to prevent damage and ensure system integrity. Over-speed protection, pitch control, and voltage regulation systems are vital components of wind turbine safety systems, mitigating risks and enhancing overall reliability. This book brings forth some of the most innovative concepts and elucidates the unexplored aspects of wind turbines. Most of the topics introduced in this book cover new techniques and the applications of wind turbines and wind energy. Students, researchers, experts and all associated with this field will benefit alike from this book.
