Falov, the first mate of The Dark Destiny, aims to accomplish what his father never could: win the Undertaking. Except his plans for a straightforward voyage are crushed when he finds a stowaway: the mermaid lover of his past.

Syrena, a princess of the sea, has lost her best friend at the hands of her ex. Desperate to ensure Falov never wins the Undertaking, she joins his crew under false pretenses, setting vengeful traps in an effort to keep victory at bay.

As the hourglass dwindles, Falov and Syrena navigate the rocky waters of their relationship-burying grudges, unveiling truths, and struggling against the currents of their desire. But when the fate of the court relies on the discovery of the Heart, will they be able to reconcile their pasts for the good of the court?

Of Rain and Emerald is the fourth installment in the Weather Court Gem series. Each standalone novella follows a different couple in their respective court (Snow, Thunder, Lightning, Rain, & Sun), each faced with the challenge of following their heart as the fate of their court's power rests in their hands.
