商品簡介
A female poet reflects on her life in this thought-provoking assemblage. Although Barbara Nelson Blinn did not publish her poetry while she lived, her work won 166 awards over twenty-five years. Now, her daughter Carol Blinn White brings her mother's achievements to the public eye while simultaneously offering a rare glimpse into the person behind the verses. Barbara Nelson Blinn's award-winning poetry about general topics muses on everything from religion and death to children and animals to patriotism and holidays. Her poems are for the workers, for the sorrowful, for those whose faith remains a bedrock even through troubled times. Familiar with the life experiences that inspired her mother, White adds insightful commentary about this award-winning poetry collection by a woman who knew terrible circumstances along with hope and healing. For readers interested in exploring the heart of a female poet who writes about what she knows, Blinn's insightful poetry about everyday experiences is sure to touch souls. This volume specifically has more light-hearted poetry, and some have themes about animals that resemble childhood bedtime stories.
