Growing up on a farm in North Dakota, Michelle's faith was nurtured in the heart of her family. After college, she devoted six years to mission work with FOCUS, bringing the Gospel to hundreds of college students. But just as she discerned a call to marriage and transitioned to serving in Adult Faith Formation, she received a devastating diagnosis--stage four colon cancer at the age of thirty, with only two months to live.

Yet, Michelle lived for another year, embracing her suffering with joy, love, and total surrender to God's will. Her radiant witness transformed not only her family and friends but also the doctors and nurses who cared for her.
