商品簡介
Presents the latest information on the flavonoid induced genetic and molecular networks that regulate plant and microbe interactions. Covering recent studies, innovations and future perspectives of flavonoid metabolism and their role in regulating plant responses to environmental changes, this book provides insights for current application as well as for future research. Flavonoids are important secondary metabolites synthesized in plants. They are antioxidant rich and play significant roles in scavenging oxidative stress markers in plants. While flavonoids have been extensively studied in model plants, their exploration from other plant species is limited. In order to understand the complete mechanism of various plant growth phases, it is important to reveal the flavonoids and their types presents a detailed compilation of the diverse flavonoids, their role in food security and underlying molecular and biochemical mechanistic parameters. It includes a detailed description of flavonoids biosynthesis, their diversity, and role in regulation of plant responses to global climate change exposure. Further, this book brings together the concept of flavonoid engineering and its status and scope to support agricultural sustainability. With emphasis on the various molecular and biochemical mechanisms responsible for flavonoids mediated plant responses to resist the alteration induced by changing environmental conditions, the book helps readers understand both the basics and the most recent advancements in flavonoids engineering and thus the survival, productivity, and sustainability of plants.
