In Book One of the series "Faster!", elder statesman, Italian Enrico Ciaro, a multiple world racing champion and record holder, makes his big comeback after an accident in 2019 that looked like a career-ender. Not how Enrico saw things, and his comeback starts in July of 2020, Covid season, a truncated race calendar that begins with spectator-less races in Austria.

Through the 17-race season, full of compromises, masks, skirmishes and mishaps, we follow Enrico as he contends with his fellow racers and grapples with his encroaching age. Torn between giving it all up so younger drivers can claim his space and fight to beat his records, and staying the course, a decision that might net him greater clout, more revenue, and a future in management, he warily decides to pursue his career. And his ultimate goal of winning his third driver's title, membership in racing's holy trinity. Can he pull it off?

While it all seems like a calculated plan, nothing is consistent at this highest level of open-wheel racing, and anything can happen. Anything.
