Ernest Porter is not just a writer; he is a storyteller who puts his heart and soul into every word. As a devoted husband to Lynda M. Porter and father of four, family is at the center of his life. His love for poetry and playing basketball reflects his lively and energetic spirit.
Ernest's love for God and his family led him to become a deacon at Rising Sun Baptist Church. He grew up at Bethlehem Missionary Baptist Church in Winnabow, North Carolina also called Dark Branch by locals. This small-knit community was where every day was exciting, and the church was the center of life. As a youth, Ernest and his friends would walk to church together and then head straight to baseball practice after the service.
Ernest has three grandchildren he holds close in prayer, always asking for God's protection over their lives. He authored this book to stir something in people to shake them out of their comfort, whether they're in a big church or a small one, and ask the real question: "What does God want from me?" Once you start to understand God's plans, His love becomes something you can't ignore.
Ernest is currently working toward his B.S. in Business and Human Resources at the University of Phoenix. He's learning, growing, and still making space for his creative work. His earlier books "Reflections of a Soul and Facing Ernest Porter" have connected with readers through their raw honesty and heartfelt truth.
In his latest book, Jesus Christ and Our Relationship, Ernest writes about the real, everyday connection between faith and life. He invites readers to pause and look at their walk with God. As it is written in Jeremiah 29:11, "For I know the plans I have for you," says the Lord, "Plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future."
