Empress of Ashen Skies

Empress Neferet once believed she was chosen by the gods to shape history. Now, with her empire ravaged by famine and disease, reeling from brutal losses, and on the brink of war, she knows she's been forsaken. Each day, she grows more desperate to hold her crumbling empire together, but faith is a dangerous thing when it feels as distant as the gods themselves.

Ilyas, a devoted warrior of his holy order, has been dispatched to protect Neferet-a task he neither wanted nor believed he could fulfil.
