As a former vigilante vampire hunter and powerful pyromancer, the last place twenty-year-old Lochlan Kelly ever expected to live was in the heart of vampire territory. Due to his new employment, Lochlan moves from the life he knew in New York City to a hidden palace in the mountains of North Carolina. While he doesn't hate all vampires (anymore) and is willing to work alongside them, he still bears the scars of the past and struggles to fit in with his new co-workers, all of whom are vastly stronger and faster with more experience than he can comprehend. Worse still, the deadly and beautiful Marcelle de Sauveterre is his new boss. Sure, they slept together once, but it was supposed to be just the once... right? As he battles desire, dysmorphia, mortal limitations, and hatred from the human world, a mission looms in Maine which may just change his life forever.
