On Becoming: Essays on human development and regeneration

Our Society is obsessed with what we make: objects, infrastructure and technology. A central purpose of what we make is to support the human condition and its arc of evolution, but instead we focus on this stuff as the goal. We have an uneasy relationship with Nature and living systems as, in part, they are difficult to control. We also tend to living systems as static entities to be manipulated... and they are suffering. We need to re-ground ourselves in the developmental processes that define life-Nature and ourselves-and adjust our institutions and norms accordingly. As an Elder, Author Christopher (Kit) Ratcliff believes it is both a privilege and a responsibility to offer his reflections to younger generations about how to imagine and create a better world.
