This book is the result of a master's thesis that investigated the fortunes of the inhabitants of Vila de Castro, located in Campos Gerais do Paran? in the first half of the 19th century. The research was based on 150 post-mortem inventories (109 of which belonged to slave owners), opened in the village between 1820 and 1844.
