Effectiveness of kinesiological taping for lipoedema

Lipedema is a progressive, pathological change in the subcutaneous fatty tissue, primarily in the lower extremities. The psychological strain experienced by those affected varies greatly from person to person. Psychological factors due to the disproportionate appearance, as well as pain and haematomas, all play a role. The classic treatment for lipoedema consists of a combination of manual lymphatic drainage and compression stockings. Lymphatic taping works synergistically with manual lymphatic drainage, so this study aims to evaluate the effect of kinesiological taping on the extent of lipoedema.
